Sonapur Minerals and Oil Limited (established as a private limited company was later converted to Public Limited company ) was incorporated in the year 2008 as a cement manufacturing industry with initial plant manufacturing capacity of 400 Ton Per Day of Cement and 750 Ton Per Day of Clinker. However considering the increasing demand and increasing brand value of our products, the capacity of the plant was expanded and at present the capacity of the cement manufacturing unit is 2300 Ton Per Day and clinker unit is 1250 Ton per Day. The company is selling Ordinary Portland Cement (OPC) under brand name such as "Sona Cement OPC" and Pozzolana Portland Cement (PPC) under other brand names like Sonakshi PPC, Sona PPC, Sonapur PPC, Sonashree PPC, Sonatech PPC, Sonali PPC, Sona Chandi PPC, Sonapur PPC and Sonatech PPC.
The manufacturing plant of the company is located at a strategic location at western region of Nepal in Dang that ensures various opportunities and advantages to the company especially availability of high grade limestone and wider market for selling our products. The plant site being situated at the western region of Nepal, is comparatively lesser developed than eastern region, providing intense opportunities for construction sectors and increasing the scope of consumption of construction materials required for civil construction activities, infrastructure developments, modernization and urbanization.
Sonapur Minerals and Oil Limited is able to produce very high quality of cement due to use of high quality limestone as its raw material for production, available in its own mining quarry having adequate reserves of limestone located in Dubidanda, Rolpa of Nepal. The distance of the factory from the limestone mines is just 42 kilometres only which is providing competitive advantage to the company in terms of inward freight cost. Since more than last 10 years the company is delivering best quality products to its customers and hence the company is able to gain confidence of its customers and created a market network for selling its products especially in western and far-western regions of Nepal. The brand value of our cement products have made us recognized as a reputed industry in the market with most preferable and established brands of the nation.
The plant of the company is currently equipped with 5 stage Preheater Dry process base clinker production and cement production along with Hydraulic Roller Press (HRP) & Ball Mills technology. In addition, the installation of advanced VRM unit for production of clinker is in progress. After completion of set up of the VRM unit, the clinker production capacity of the plant will be 1650 Ton per Day. The company is also using Bag Filters, Bag House and Electrostatic Precipitator (ESP) as a pollution control measures.
